For the director, upon shoshannim. For the sons of Korah. A maskil, a song. Beloved. 1 My heart surges—a good word I utter. My works for the king; my tongue is the pen of a swift scribe. 2 You are the most beautiful among the sons of Adam; grace has been poured on your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. 3 Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and your majesty. 4 And majesty—prosper! Ride on the word of truth and humility-righteousness; your right hand teaches awesome things. 5 Your arrows are sharp; peoples fall beneath you, in the heart of the enemies of the king. 6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. 7 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions. 8 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy above your companions. 9 Daughters of kings are among your precious things; the queen stands at your right hand in gold of Ophir. 10 Listen, daughter, and see and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house. 11 Let the king desire your beauty, for he is your lord; and bow down to him. 12 The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift—your face they desire; the rich of the people will prostrate themselves to him. 13 All the glory of the daughter of the king is inside, clothed with gold embroideries. And the daughter of Tyre is in the offering—your face they will desire, the rich ones of the People. 14 All the glory of the daughter of the king is inward; her clothing is from embroideries of gold. Virgins after her, her companions, are brought to you. 15 They will be led in embroidery to you, the king; virgins, her companions, are being brought to you. 16 Instead of your fathers will be your sons; you will set them as princes in all the earth. 17 I will cause your name to be remembered in every generation and generation; therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.
